The mystery of Creation!!

Today our kids will come home from school to find baby Yoda sitting up on our roof. Yes, this might look a little strange 🤣, I mean why would we do such a thing 🤔.  It's simple really, today our kids will come home from school probably laughing and asking themselves "how did baby Yoda get on the roof?" They will assume it was us, but they weren't there to see us do it, soooo.... How do you know it didn't just.... "poof" 💨 appear out of nowhere? They will probably laugh at the absurdity of Yoda simply appearing out of nowhere 🤣. Why is that so absurd?? 🤷‍♀️.  Well... Because science itself tells us that everything that has a beginning has a cause. Since Yoda wasn't on our roof yesterday, his appearing today means he has a beginning. Since Yoda has a beginning.... he must have a cause. Our kids will be handed a detective case and they will begin to look for clues, ask questions and document their findings as they solve the case! 🕵️‍♀️. Who put baby Yoda on our roof and how come he is able to stay up there without falling off?? 🤔

This, of course, will lead us right into the real reason we put Yoda on the roof.  It's easy to take it for granted, but we live in a world so magnificent and so fine tuned that you have to ask yourself... "How did we get here?"  Wanna know something funny??? Secular science says "poof"💨. Out of nowhere the world just appeared... no creator, just simply by chance or coincidence! All matter (that simply appeared on its own) stuffed so tightly in a small vacuum of empty space one day just exploded 💥 creating the world as we know it today! Aaaand.... according to scientific evidence small particles of photons were present in that "BIG BANG" of existence. Do you know what photons are??? ..... Photons are the smallest particles of matter that make up light! Science says light was at the very beginning. Do you know what the Bible says in the very first 3 verses???   Genesis 1:1-3 NIV

[1] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [2] Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. [3] And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.  🤯

Imagine that... Science points to the Bible, God's basic instruction manual for life on earth 🌎  The order of evolution is not far off from God's intentional and purposeful design of creation, again keeping science pointing toward the word of God. Buuuut.... This is where it gets a bit shady. Instead of a creator, secular science will tell you that every living thing has evolved from each other. This science will tell you that this guy here🦍 is your great, great, great, great (times about a billion) grandfather. Christian science, however, will tell you that there is God who purposely designed the universe and life in a specific order. His design made life on this earth 🌍 possible. It's the same scientific process, just with a different starting assumption. This God created us in His own image. He has a plan and purpose for our life. And best of all He loves us!

[16] For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 

Next week our kids will be handed another detective file, "The Case for a Creator". We are taking Lee Strobel's study for kids and diving deep as we seek out the evidence for a creator. I believe science is a tool that God gave us to find him and discover his amazing attributes, not just as creator and designer, but also as a loving father. 

I've heard it said that God is a myth. Faith in a creator is just a hope for something or some power that is just a dream, a figment of our imagination. The Bible says, "[1] Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. [2] This is what the ancients were commended for. [3] By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." Hebrews 11:1-3

Can you catch the wind, can you see the wind? Can you see God, have you ever seen seen Him? I've never seen the wind, but I've seen the effects of the wind. It's a mystery. I've never seen God, but I've seen the effects of God.  DC talk talks about this so well in their song "In my minds eye", a song I grew up listening to when I first learned about the idea of Evolution. 

So back to Yoda... My kids will have to gather the evidence and decide; is it possible Yoda just poofed into existence 💨, or was there a mind of creativity, a little planning, a little engineering to figure out balance and a handy dad that worked together to put Yoda on our roof? 

In this same way we will have to gather the evidence on a much bigger question.❓ If Yoda needed a creator to set it's roof dwelling habitat. Did the universe also need a creator to set it's perfect balance in space for life to exist? ... Or did it just win the cosmic lottery and poof 💨 or boom💥.... Instant universe??
